Yuvish Singh is an 11- year-old golf phenomenon/philanthropist, whose views on life and the rest of the world are years ahead of his time. Yuvish, a Canadian Junior Golf Champion, started Birdies for the Children Charitable Foundation in 2006, which supports UNICEF's vaccine program.

The snow has just melted and it's already time for students to look for summer jobs. Come out to Jobs Caledon in Bolton this coming Wednesday (April 16), from 3 to 7 p.m., for the Youth Summer Job Sign-up. Jobs Caledon is partnering with the Job Connect program of the John Howard Society to help match students with employers in Caledon and Brampton.

Caledon OPP are looking for a suspect in connection with a reported robbery at a gas station on Airport Road in Caledon East Thursday night. Police report a male suspect, described as a teenager, wearing a balaclava over his face entered the station's office area brandishing a knife and demanded money from the male who was sitting in the office.
Caledon Blackhawks diffuse Bombers to win the league championship

The Caledon Blackhawks minor atom Select team traveled to Brampton's Memorial Arena Saturday, and came away as league champions after topping the Brampton Bombers. Both teams enjoyed a good year. The Bombers had finished first in the regular season while the Blackhawks were fourth.

A March 25 vehicle stop on Regional Road 50 near Bolton Heights resulted in charges for the driver, according to Caledon OPP. The 19-year-old man from Caledon was charged with possession for the purpose-schedule II and possession of a controlled substance (marijuana).

Being a small-C conservative, I would generally enthusiastically favour what a guy like Bob Runciman is up to. But his latest move has me wondering why he's only going after half the target. Runciman, a Progressive Conservative, is the interim opposition leader in the provincial legislature at Queen s Park.
